Introducing: Stuart John Ryan

On December 16 at 12:07 our precious little boy was born. He weighed 6 lbs. 5oz. and is 19 inches long.
I had a doctors appt. Tuesday morning and our Dr. set up for me to be induced the next morning at 7 o'clock, 4 days before I was due. So I went home and cleaned and got all of the little things done that I wanted done before we brought home a baby... and apparently I worked a little too hard because that night at 3 a.m. we went into the hospital. No need to be induced!! I was freaked out to get an epidural but by the time we got to the hospital I was completely ready the second I could get it! Epidurals are AMAZING!! Great invention whoever thought of them! Our doctor finally got there at 11:30 and little Stu was born at 12:07. It was not as bad as I thought it would be, and totally worth it! Stuart is so cute..he doesn't like to sleep at night but we love him so much!

Stu had low blood sugar so they gave him an IV. It was so cute and little!

This is the outfit that Mike picked out all by himself for Stu to come home in! It says "How I Roll" so cute!

Talented boy

Stuart also has one great talent that I must share! Yes I know that it is very common for most boys to be pretty good at peeing all over the second you open there diaper. Well, not only is Stu good at that! But he can pee out of his diaper without getting anything in the diaper! We have the diapers that have a brown stripe until they are wet, and then the line turns blue. Stuart peed the other day out of his diaper, soaked his whole outfit and then when I got down to the diaper, you guessed it brown line!! Nothing inside! He also peed allover himself today while wearing his cute Rocky outfit that Mike bought him, which he obviously loves because his diaper and underneath onsie was soaked and the Rocky onsie was completely dry! Amazing!! We love our little Dude!

Stupid CAT!!

So about a month ago we noticed little signs all around our apartment buildings advertising for a free black cat. Some guys son had moved and couldn't take his cat so they were looking for a new home for him. Well, apparently the search was unsuccessful because there is now a black cat that roams around our building all of the time! Mike thinks it is cute and pets it even though I don't let him touch anything (or anyone. meaning me!) until he washes his hands! So for this I blame him.....

This last Sunday was the Sunday of the month that I had to work and since our church and work are the same time I didn't go to church with Mike. He left, a little later I left, no problem....so we thought! After church he came to see me at work for a little bit and went home.. then came the phone call back at work. Mike asked me if I had left the door open or anything before I left that morning, me thinking I don't know, weird question, asked why?? Well, says Mike, "you don't want to know but, when I opened the door that black cat was sitting right inside our door and then ran out when it saw me!!" Ahhh!! DISGUSTING!! I remembered that I had opened the door and then saw my cell phone sitting on the computer desk, so I left the door open for like 10 seconds to grab it and then left! That stupid cat had run in right when I turned away and had itself a little party in our house!! After I told Mike that he better check everywhere for poop! I spent all the rest of work thinking of all of the things that the cat could have been doing in our house for 3 and a half hours! GROSS! I want to tell the apartment people to get rid of that cat and Mike just feels bad for it...this may eventually be a problem!! (:

Magic Remote!

The other night while we were watching T.V. I set the remote on my belly just because it is a handy little table now. But, then I noticed that the remote would move by itself!! Little Guy was kicking and moving around and whenever he did we could see it really good under the remote. So we tried to record it to show everyone but...he wasn't a fan of that idea. So here are a bunch of movies and just a little bit of moving!

This has taken me a little while to get on here, (apparently our camera makes videos very large so they wouldn't upload.) But, little guy will not be here in two months and a week, he will be here in about 1 month and 2 weeks!!! Yea! We are very excited!

Utah game

We were lucky enough to get to go to a Utah game about a week ago. I guess most people know that just saying Utah means University of Utah, I don't know how all boys just come that conclusion when there are clearly three schools in Utah with football teams. I also learned that you can' t call them U of U because there is another school with that exact name, so for others like me.. we went to a University of Utah game!! It was my first real game and was really fun! I learned pretty much how football works and actually enjoyed watching the game rather than talking to friends since the only other football games I have been to were in high school and that is what I did! Another thing that helped me enjoy the game would have to be our amazing seats! You know when you look at all of the seats from far away, and then above all of the seats you see the boxes with windows and even higher seats?! Well that is where we sat. Mike's bosses are Big University of Utah fans and go to all of the home games so the bought a box, and we got to go! It was cool, we felt very rich, not to mention that our tickets said V.I.P. it was sweet!

1st Anniversary

Crazy, yes!! We have been married for a whole year already! Sept. 19 was our 1st anniversary and we were babysitting my cousin Jeff's kids for the week. Which made them lucky enough to get to share our year old cake! They were very funny and not too sure what they thought about eating 1 year old cake. But once they tried it they liked it. They even liked the fondant which is not the best tasting frosting ever. So we were cool babysitters for at least one of the nights! Sooner or later we plan on doing something fun by ourselves as a belated anniversary, I guess this kind of prepared us for how it will be for future anniversaries!

This is the Place

For Labor Day weekend we went with Lydia, Nate, Sarah and Ty to the This is the Place Monument! We are so happy that we live close to them and have someone fun to do stuff with! they are so much fun! I had been to the monument before a long time ago when our family went with Aunt Susan, but I guess that was a really long time ago because there was a lot that I didn't remember. The little village was cool to see, including the people that looked completely legit with there old fashion outfits AND hair! It was also a very great learning experience for Mike who thought that the whole village was an original and wanted to leave when he found out that all of the buildings were duplicates!! Funny Mike!

We even saw our relative B.F. Johnson's DUPLICATE house/leather working place. There was an especially funny guy inside that house, when we would ask him questions I couldn't tell if he was answering them for this day or the olden days! He was a very good actor and a little stuck in his part!
Sarah and Ty were very cute! Sarah got scared when we went to a house with cows in the back and then a little freaked out by the geese that were running around, needless to say we did not go to the petting zoo! Ty just hung out...and then fell asleep!

Snails

We keep finding snails outside our appartment, or I guess the shell of snails, they wouldn't ever come out. One time Mike's Dad told us to pour water by them and they would come out, and they did! Well the other day it rained and there were a whole bunch of snails crawling all over. Snails look really cool so we put them all next to eachother and took pictures! While taking the pictures I noticed this nasty looking thing and said that It looks like another snail that got stepped on or something. Then Mike looked and said, "o yeah that was me!" HE KILLED THIS SNAIL!! Yes it was an accident but pretty sad/gross/funny!

Talon's Balchelor Party!

Yes we did have this little party for Talon before he got married.....which was more than a month ago now! But I am finally getting them on here. The night before Talon and Natalie got married Natalie had a bridal shower with some of her cousins so we had Talon come over and play with us! Lydia made really yummy pizza's and we all made him the coolest cake ever!

(I don't know how to flip the pictures!)

Then we all went swimming in our surprisingly cold swimming pool (they said it was heated, they lied!) little Ty was shivering like crazy it was very cute! Then we watched a movie and Natalie showed up towards the end to join the party! (I don't think soon enough for one of us!!)

Cleaning the Conference Center

Last Sunday in gospel doctrine a guy passed around a sign up sheet for four people to help clean the conference center. I thought that sounded cool and would be really fun to do, but since we were all of the way in the back of the room and they only needed four people I thought our chances would be slim....well apparently this is a semi-normal thing for utah wards (not to mention the time was 9:30 to midnight) so when the list got all they way back to us there were only three people signed up! So even though they only wanted four people we both signed up and they got five!

Mike got to wear this cool vacuum and clean the seats and the backs of a bunch of chairs. We were there for about two hours and he probably cleaned about 300 chairs, not missing one inch because it had to be good quality cleaning! But, even 300 chairs looked like nothing with the room full of 21,000!! It is a pretty huge place.
I got the cool job! (Being pregnant does come with some sweet deals!) I got to dust the whole front of the stage, everything wood and since there was a lot of wood and we had to get every inch it took me almost the whole two hours. It was really cool to be right up in the front of the conference center where I had never been before. They did have a lot of security rules though, no one was allowed to go on the stage, so I got lucky to be the closest but still I wasn't allowed to go passed the top step of those stairs you can see behind me and I couldn't TOUCH anything but the base of the pulpit!! Kinda funny, but I obeyed! The pulpit was pretty cool. I new it was from a tree out of Pres. Hinckley's backyard but I didn't realize that it was a completely different wood than all of the rest! It really sticks out when your dusting!

It's a boy!!

We did find out that we are having a boy! Even though I was hoping for a girl I am starting to get very excited for a boy. This little guy seems to be a pretty good kicker so for that fact alone I am glad that he is not a girl. I know girls kick too but I imagine they would be a little daintier than his!

We are having a hard time thinking of boy names...or should I say we have NO idea what to name him, so any ideas we would love to hear!

Change of plans

I was informed by my friend Erin earlier this week that even though I have a blog I should not consider myself a "blogger"! In order to become a true "blogger" I have to post things a little more often than I have. So in my effort to become one of these "bloggers" here is our newest bit of news!

As of a week ago Mike and I decided against him going to grad school right now. We hate the idea of getting way into debt and with a new baby coming not to mention the insane amount of money for grad school we thought it a good idea to work for a little while first. So last monday Mike started looking for jobs. We were surprised when we quickly got a call for an interview thursday morning, and then even better a job offer friday night!! I am so lucky that I have a talented husband that is able to provide for us. We are so grateful at how blessed we have been!
Finally, after being homeless for two weeks (even though we have had lots of fun staying with our families!) we will be moving to Midvale Utah this saturday, and then Mike starts working on Monday. Hopefully I will find a job somewhere doing hair, but for now I am excited to be close enough to go play with Lydia, Sarah, and Ty.

Our newest addition!

We are expecting a new member to our Ryan family this December!! Somewhere around the 20th and the 26th! Yes, perfect timing, we'll have a Christmas baby! (The accountant in Mike really is thinking perfect timing; right before the end of the year for taxes!) We don't know if it's a girl or a boy yet, probably another 4-5 weeks but we are keeping our fingers crossed for a girl!

Mike's Graduation!

Mike graduated from BYU-I in April!! Yeah Mike! We are both very excited that he is done, one of us probably more than the other! But thank goodness the long haul is over. He is now just looking for a job/waiting for grad-school at U of U to start in the fall. (If you know of anyone who needs an awesome accountant let us know!)But yep, we will be moving to Utah at the end of July and are very excited to be closer to Lydia and Nate and their cute family!

Thanks to Lydia i finally have a blog...not that, that makes me any better at using it! But I do have one and will hopefully figure out this posting business and keep it up to date!
