Playin' in the bathtub

The other day I was doing my hair and of course Stu had to come in the bathroom with me...usually it ends up being a huge problem, me carrying Stu out screaming and putting all of the garbage back in the garbage, then him coming back in and shaking the shelf over our toilet until everything falls off... But this time he decided to climb in the tub! It was great he loved pulling all of the shampoos down AND best of all he couldn't get out!!

Another Year Gone

Well, another year is gone and we are busy as ever with all of the January happenings, church callings and trying to figure out what we are doing 6 months from now.

Mike just finished applying to the three schools we chose and so now the worst part begins...waiting. He is still working here in Cottonwood Heights and was just given a huge job of making some giant spread sheet thing. They LOVE that he is the master at excel!! Mike also is the membership clerk in our ward and is keeping very busy with our crazy transient ward. Stu and I have been hanging out at home a lot together since it has been SO cold, he is getting pretty good at walking and is doing it more and more even though there is no reason for him to walk in our mini apartment. He humors us! Stu is also quite the little talker! He talks so cute and A LOT!! He reads books (or sits and pulls all of the books off of the shelf and talks to them) but he will not sit in my lap and let me read to him, to boring I guess! I have been trying for a couple weeks now to get a video of him talking, but every time I would turn the camera on he would hear the little camera beep or jingle and just watch to see what I was doing. Well, finally last night I tricked him, I went into our bedroom and turned it on so he couldn't hear and then came back to record him, it worked like a charm!! So hear you are, Jabber Stu:

Playing in the Snow

We finally took Stu out to play in the snow! He has snow pants that Grandpa Ryan got him so we had to go play before he put grew them. 

  He really liked the snow and probably would have stayed out longer if his parents weren't freezing!! We brought him inside because I thought my hands were frozen solid and his hands weren't even cold underneath his snow crusted gloves! (0:

Christmas

We had a very fun Christmas and were VERY Spoiled! I am getting more and more used to the craziness that is always our Christmas because we see both families. I am grateful that we get to see both of our families so much and don't have to travel far to either one.

Stu didn't really know what to think about Christmas I think. He liked all of the new toys of course but after opening one he wanted to play with it not open more! (and of course I couldn't find my camera Christmas morning or any more of the trip until we got home so I only have a few pics.)

 These are actually Stu's Bday presents, but really when your Bday is on Dec. 16th there is not much of a difference...At this age anyway.

We are SO grateful for our wonderful families who are so fun to be with!! Thanks for the great Christmas!

Stu is 1!

It is hard to believe that it has been one whole year since we brought Stu home from the hospital. We have had SO much fun having him with us that time has just flown by! We love our Stu and are so glad that he is ours!

 

We had Lydia, Nate, Sarah and Ty come over for dinner and cupcakes for Stu's birthday! We love living so close to them and loved sharing Stu's birthday!

For a B-day cake I want to try making these cupcakes since I knew Stu would not care what I made. They were very yummy but did not look as good as the ones on Picky Palate...mine sunk in in the middle (a lot) but just got filled in with frosting! ~yummy~

Ty Ty is the cutest Happy B-day singer!!

 Stu got lots of fun presents and had even more help unwrapping them, as you can see! Thanks goodness he had a good lesson in present opening from two pros just in time for Christmas!

Favorite Spot

Stu loves the computer! Most of the time when I am using the computer if he is not sitting on my lap "helping" he is in the corner playing (a.k.a messing) with whatever he can find.

Hats are AWESOME!!

 One morning Mike had his hat on and Stu kept looking at him funny and trying to take his hat..so we got his hat and put it on him and he has been wearing it ever since!

HAIR CUT!!

I finally broke down and cut Stu' s hair. It was cute and curly, but was really long. I can't believe how old he looks now with the cute spiky big-boy hair-do!

Nice and happy...he had no idea what was coming!
